Welcome to Water’s Edge: A Cotswolds Wedding Venue Story
Water’s Edge is an exclusive use Cotswolds wedding venue located in the quaint village of Ewen, near Cirencester, Gloucestershire. Founded by husband and wife team Steve and Emma Hewer in 2022, the venue builds on over a decade of hosting marquee weddings on the grounds. Moreover, with the construction of our contemporary barn, we now offer a stunning space for events all year round.
A Modern Barn Designed for Unforgettable Events
The venue features a two-storey, L-shaped barn. In addition, on the ground floor, guests can enjoy a spacious dining room with an open fireplace, a large bar and lounge area, and an open theatre-style kitchen where our in-house chefs showcase their skills. As a result, every event feels unique, interactive, and truly memorable.

Meet Our General Manager
Water’s Edge at Ewen is managed by Steve and Emma’s sons, Will & Alex, who bring over 14 years of hospitality experience to their roles. Will’s primary responsibility is ensuring that our wedding couples have an unforgettable experience. Known for his exceptional attention to detail, he takes pride in working closely with each bride and groom, tailoring every aspect of the wedding to their specific requirements. From initial planning to the final touches, Will’s commitment to excellence ensures that every couple’s vision is brought to life seamlessly. Alex works the operation side from set up and logistics.
Meet Our Operations Manager
Alex is also a son of Emma and Steve and brings extensive experience in managing multiple restaurants, wedding venues, pubs, and hotels in the Cotswold area. Notably, he has worked for Youngs Brewery Group and The Lucky Onion Group.
Alex’s role involves planning and implementing production processes to improve quality, productivity and performance of the business and day to day operations of our Guests wedding day.
With an impeccable eye for detail, Alex is deeply passionate about ensuring that guests have the best possible experience.
Meet Our Head Chef
Daniel Field, the venue’s head chef, brings over 15 years of experience to Water’s Edge. Additionally, he has worked alongside Michelin-starred chefs in London, The Lucky Onion Group, and Cowley Manor. He prides himself on using the finest local ingredients to create exceptional dishes and culinary experiences for our guests. Daniel’s cooking style is rustic and simple, focusing on bringing people together through food. Inspired by Yotam Ottolenghi’s vibrant colours and seasonal approach to cuisine.
